Last season we saw Kaby Djalo depart Chelsea's academy to attempt to make his mark at AEL Limassol. The young Portuguese made four appearances for the club before his 6-month contract expired in the spring. He's been making the rounds this summer and fall, trialing with various clubs as he tried to sort out his future.
He looked likely to sign at Red Star Belgrade in Serbia, but that deal ended up falling through. He's still without a club, but reports today suggest he may be very close to a deal with Yeovil Town in League One. According to Yeovil manager Gary Johnson:
"I can't jump the gun but he is with us and I wanted him to see us, really. We have got a boy who used to be at Chelsea called Kaby Djalo who is like a smaller version of Pele. He was at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho has bought him in and he has just come back from Cyprus."
I'm thrilled to see Kaby returning to England, as he was a prospect I really enjoyed watching. With the relationship we've had with Yeovil over the last several seasons, it wouldn't surprise me if I'm watching them due to other loanees again in the very near future. Best of luck Kaby, and kick some ass...
For any Yeovil fans reading this, we had a look at Kaby a season and a half ago
