Chelsea release squad details for the two USA friendlies

The Premier League season is over, and up next for Chelsea are a pair of friendlies in the good ol' U-S-of-A. I was going to write a post today speculating about who may be involved in the two-match tour, but Chelsea have gone ahead and announced the full squad that will be making the trip. The complete squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Petr Cech, Henrique Hilario, Jamal Blackman

Defenders: Paulo Ferreira , Cesar Azpilicueta , Branislav Ivanovic, Ashley Cole, Gary Cahill, David Luiz, Andreas Christensen

Midfielders: John Obi Mikel, Nathan Ake, Ramires, Frank Lampard, Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Forwards: Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Yossi Benayoun, Marko Marin, Victor Moses, Oscar, Fernando Torres, Demba Ba

I'm excited to see Andreas Christensen and Ruben Loftus-Cheek traveling with the squad, as they are probably the two academy players that I've been most impressed with this season. John Terry and Ryan Bertrand will be missing the trip due to injury, so there isn't much to take from that.

The goalkeeper situation is a bit more interesting, as the soon to be out of contract Henrique Hilario is heading West with the club while fellow soon to be unemployed Ross Turnbull is not. I doubt either will be back with the club next season, but it did catch my eye.

I was actually a little surprised not to see Josh McEachran, Billy Clifford, or Todd Kane included, as their seasons ended a few weeks ago now. I'd imagine the club simply allowed them to have some time off though, as it was a long season for all three.

From a personal standpoint, I hope that whomever is managing the club on the trip decides to give the youngsters plenty of time, as well as guys like Paulo and Hilario that have been fantastic servants to the club for the last several years. As long as nobody gets hurt though, I guess I don't really care.
