This is Tamworth -- FORMER England man Lee Hendrie believes Frank Lampard could do a Ryan Giggs and carry on playing at the top level past the age of 40.
Hendrie, who now plays for Conference side Tamworth, was part of a successful England under-21 team with Lampard, and believes that the Chelsea man is better now than he was back then.
Hendrie said: "Frank is great, he really is.
"He could be one of those players who does a Giggsy, and who goes on and plays till he is 40.
"I wouldn't say you could tell that he could do that in the England under-21 days, but what you could tell was how good he was in front of goal and how much he cared about what he did.
"He never stood out back then.
"He kind of avoided the pressure of being on the radar as it were, but he carried on doing what he did well, improved his game and, to be honest, has never really looked back."
Hendrie says Lampard's quality means he should be an automatic starter for the England game away at Montenegro tonight, if not for his past record then for what he had left in the tank.
Hendrie said: "Frank has shown what he can do in the past, he has got nothing to prove.
"I think is in the top ten goalscoring midfielders in my eyes he has done in year in year out for the last ten years or more.
"But despite that he should start because he can still do it. He is good enough to do it at the top level in the league and I think he is good enough to do it at the top level internationally to go along with that."
