• Objects hurled towards pitch by fans

Chelsea are investigating after a steward was taken to hospital after being injured in a crowd surge at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League match against Manchester United and objects were hurled towards the pitch by supporters.

A Chelsea spokesman said the male steward was crushed during a surge by home fans after Javier Hernández's winner for Manchester United on Sunday and appeared to have twisted a knee having fallen to the ground. Coins, lighters and part of a seat appeared to have been thrown.

The spokesman said "we are investigating all the incidents around that time", including "reports of objects that may have been thrown or incidents around the steward taking a fall".
