Chelsea Transfer News: Chelsea Deny John Terry Exit

Chelsea have emphatically denied the transfer news of defender John Terry leaving the club over the January transfer window—stating that the claims of a move by the England international have no backing and are simply "nonsense."

Terry's shock transfer news came after FIFA agent Francois Gallardo told Radio Intereconomia (h/t The Daily Mail):

Valencia are negotiating and I am involved in person with the signing in the winter transfer market. The offer is on his [Terry's] table.

The player is out of contract in June and will not renew there for several reasons at Chelsea and he wants to come to Spain. Terry has problems. They are insulting him and he is not taking it anymore—he asked to leave, not us.

It's real. This deal has been going on for 15 days and two meetings have already took place. The deal is already on his table—I think he will accept.

However, a spokesperson for the West London club was quick to point out that the claims have nothing behind them and have been completely fabricated.

Per The Independent:

Chelsea have branded claims they are negotiating the sale of John Terry to Valencia as “nonsense”. The Blues were quick to rubbish the claims this afternoon, however, with a club spokesman telling Press Association Sport that the story was "nonsense."

The comments made by Chelsea will hopefully put to rest one of the more extreme rumors to have been speculated about for the January transfer window, with Terry unlikely to leave the club where he has become famous and at which he has played all of his professional football.

Especially not now with the club doing so well in the English Premier League—where they currently sit in first place—and the UEFA Champions League, where they currently sit second in their group behind Shakhtar Donetsk and in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages.

Terry has 18 months left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, and whilst he may or may not opt to leave the West London club at the end of that time, there is simply no way that he would choose to leave Chelsea over this year's January transfer window.

The 31-year-old defender has made 379 appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League alone; over 500 appearances across all competitions for the Blues.

To think that he would just leave the club—at it's strongest point in recent years—to go and play for Valencia in La Liga is simply ridiculous.

Don't expect this to take place over the January transfer window.

John Terry isn't leaving Chelsea this winter... is he?
