• QPR defender wears Kick It Out T-shirt in warmup
• Rio Ferdinand set to shake hands with Ashley Cole
Anton Ferdinand took part in Saturday's anti-racism initiative by wearing a Kick It Out T-shirt during the warmup before QPR's 1-0 Premier League defeat at Arsenal.
The past few days appear to have heralded the first signs of peace breaking out between the Ferdinand brothers and Chelsea's John Terry and Ashley Cole. Cole, who gave evidence in support of Terry at his criminal racism trial in July, was branded a "choc-ice" in a tweet that was endorsed by Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand in the wake of the not guilty verdict in those proceedings but reports suggest they will now shake hands before Sunday's game between Chelsea and United at Stamford Bridge.
Some black players took direct action by refusing to wear T-shirts endorsing the Kick It Out campaign during last week's fixtures, including the Ferdinand brothers.
The match at the Emirates was dedicated as Arsenal For Everyone, the club's initiative against racism and all kinds of discrimination. Anton Ferdinand joined the rest of the Arsenal and QPR teams in supporting the event, having last weekend been one of a number of players not to wear the Kick It Out campaign's T-shirt in protest at the handling of race issues within the game.
