Top Five Best Replacements to Take Over from Rafa Benitez as Chelsea Boss This Summer

Benitez MutinyThe Spanish waiter has confirmed he's offski this summer but who could replace him?

Article originally publish by the always excellent fanatix news.

David Moyes

5. David Moyes

Roman Abramovich seems to have exhausted most of his foreign options so the trigger-happy Russian may have to look closer to home for a new boss. No-nonsense Moyes is delaying committing to a new deal at Everton and, with the Toffees likely to miss out on Champions League qualification once again, the Scot may feel it is time to move on.

However, Moyes is used to spending what little money he is given himself, and may not take kindly to Abramovich's intrusions.

4. Gus Poyet

The Brighton boss is a favourite son of the Chelsea fans having spent four years at Stamford Bridge between 1997 and 2001. The classy Uruguayan has built an attractive and competitive team on the South Coast but has made no secret of his desire to manage at the top level. While Poyet would undoubtedly have the immediate support the Chelsea fans, it's doubtful that he has the experience to meet Abramovich's lofty demands of Premier League and Champions League success.

Laudrup

3. Michael Laudrup

The Dane has worked wonders at Swansea City and guided the Jacks to the finest moment in their history last week, with League Cup success at Wembley. The former Barcelona and Real Madrid playmaker has build a team that plays attractive football and might be able to lure Spanish sensation Michu with him to the Bridge to replace woeful compatriot Fernando Torres. Laudrup has a tenuous link to Chelsea through his brother Brian, who played for the Blues between 1998 and 1999.

Spain Soccer

2. Manuel Pellegrini

The Malaga boss is hot property at the moment and will likely be on Abramovich's radar having worked wonders at La Rosaleda this season. The Chilean has experience of managing a big team packed with egos, after a season in charge at Real Madrid, and also boasts significant European experience from his time at Villareal. With Malaga struggling financially at present, the La Liga club would accept a substantial compensation package but Man City are also interested.

Mourinho Man City

1. Jose Mourinho

Who else but the Special One? Mourinho's return to Stamford Bridge would undoubtedly please the Chelsea faithful and the Portuguese is almost certain to leave Real Madrid this summer after falling foul of a number of star players. Mourinho has all the credentials to lead Chelsea to greatness again but it remains to be seen whether Abramovich would be willing to work with the outspoken former Inter Milan boss again...and whether Mourinho would be willing to work with him.
