QPR are refusing to comment on reports that a vital training break in Dubai last month 'turned into a stag party' with players up drinking until the early hours of the morning.

The Rs, who are bottom of the Premier League and facing relegation to the Championship, flew to Dubai in a last ditch bid for manager Harry Redknapp to reunite his fragmented squad.

But according to the Daily Mirror, the trip turned into 'a joke', with players only doing an hour and a half of training each day before going out drinking – often until 5am.

The news was leaked by an unknown player among the QPR squad, who says infighting and tension between the players is ruining their chances of survival.

'Dubai was a week when we had the chance to sort out the problems,' said the source.

'But we ended up going there for a holiday. It would have been better if we'd stayed in London. Some players were out, until 3am, 4am, 5am – and then went to training at 8am. It was like a stag party.'

'Two or three players couldn't train the next day. It was that bad. It's impossible to survive like that and so this club isn't going to survive.'

'Some are going around saying they can't wait for the end of the season so they can move.'

The astonishing revelations shed light on the chaos that has surrounded QPR's season, with the club massively underachieving and picking up just 17 points all term.

QPR have since admitted they are aware of the story, and are refusing to confirm or deny its content.

'The club is aware of the article in today’s Daily Mirror but the club’s entire focus is on today’s fixture against Southampton,' said media officer Ian Taylor.

'We will be making no further comment at this time.'
