Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has earmarked moves for a trio of Premier League based talents he would like to lure to Anfield this summer.

The Northern Irishman has been promised a decent, if not spectacular, level of transfer funding which Rodgers can increase with the aid of players sales if he feels it necessary.

The club's American owner are reticent to provide vast sums similar to those handed to Kenny Dalglish but are also keen to back Brendan Rodgers in his pursuit of a push to secure a coveted Champions League berth, which looks out of reach for the current campaign.

Sinclair QPR

High up on Rodgers' wish-list is Man City attacker Scott Sinclair, who has resolutely failed to make an impact at the Etihad Stadium following his £6.2m move to the club last August.

Brendan Rodgers knows the 23 year old well from his spells at both Chelsea and Swansea City and feels he could tempt the youngster into leaving Man City, even though doing so would have to entail taking something of a pay-cut.

The talented young attacker has seen his career stagnate at the Premier League title holders and whilst the Bath born youngster may well have expected it to be tough to secure a regular first team berth he would surely have hoped for moer than just the two Premier League starts he has thus far been handed, both of which led to Sinclair being hauled off.

Man City's need to trim their squad to help meet UEFA's Financial Fair Play guidelines may well lead to Roberto Mancini's side accepting offers for Sinclair which are near to the fee they paid Swansea City.

De Bruyne Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers is also keen on another attacking talent in the form of Chelsea youngster Kevin de Bruyne, who is still yet to play a senior competitive match for the West London side more than a year after he signed for the Blues.

The Belgian international has been a big hit in the Bundesliga during his season long loan spell at Werder Bremen and Rodgers has sent scouts to monitor the 21 year old who could be made available by Chelsea this summer.

De Bruyne, who can play either as an attacking central midfielder or out wide, will return to Stamford Bridge this summer to find himself way down the pecking order and will be keen to avoid being left on the bench and as a result perhaps losing his spot in the Belgian national team set-up.

A move to Liverpool could interest the youngster, especially given Brendan Rodgers' push to give youthful members of his squad a chance to shine.

De Bruyne is one of the top assist makers in the German top tier this term and has also netted six goals for his Weserstadion side.

Ashley Williams Swansea City

Rodgers' third target, and perhaps most well documented, is Swansea City centre-back Ashley Williams.

The Welsh international skipper is a player the Liverpool boss hopes will strengthen his defence in view of Jamie Carragher's imminent retirement. Given that Brendan Rodgers has also had some issues with Slovakian tough tackler Martin Skrtel, with the no-nonsense defender being dropped on a number of occasions in recent months, there is perhaps a real need to bring in centre-back alternative.

Whilst Williams will be pleased with the progress under Michael Laudrup the 28 year old could well be interested in a move to reunite with his former Liberty Stadium boss this summer.
