Chelsea continue to scout young Dane Christian Eriksen according to Sporten with the West London side sending scouts to watch the Ajax playmaker in national team action against Bulgaria.

The 21 year old has been a stunning success since his move to Ajax five years ago and is now a pivotal member of Frank de Boer's Amsterdam Arena set-up, however as the former Dutch legend will be all too aware, it is seemingly inevitable that Eriksen will look to move to one of Europe's 'bigger' leagues, as it customary with any talented individuals who make a name for themselves in the Eredivisie.

Eriksen has helped his side to back to back domestic titles in the last two campaigns and already has 150 Ajax appearances to his name, as well as 33 national team caps and is perhaps seen by Chelsea as a possible successor to veteran Frank Lampard.

The Blues may see Eriksen as an ideal goal-scoring midfielder to replace the 34 year old, who looks set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Eriksen has scored seven goals and provided nine assists in Eredivisie action alone this term, helping his side to the top of the table and he also impressed during Champions League action, scoring against Man City and providing four assists during the group stage.

A move for the Ajax youngster would adhere to Roman Abramovich's push for a more youthful transfer policy, as evidenced by his £80m+ outlay on six players under the age of 23 last summer.
