Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to give up on Spanish flop Fernando Torres and will accept offers as low as £15m for the former Liverpool man this summer.

The Blues will however look to use the faltering forward to help in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid goal machine Radamel Falcao by using the former Vicente Calderon hero as a makeweight in any move for the in-form Colombian according to the Daily Express.

Russian big spenders Anzhi Makhachkala are said to be keen on the 28 year old but Torres is apparently leaning towards a move back to La Liga.

Abramovich has been pursuing Falcao ever since he netted a hat-trick against the West London club in the Super Cup Final and the Russian billionaire may well feel that using Torres as part of any deal could well be the motivation the Spanish side might need in order to sell their prized asset.

Falcao has helped Atletico Madrid to separate giants Barcelona and Real Madrid in the domestic table, no mean feat, but there seems a good chance that Diego Simeone's side will look to cash in on the former FC Porto man as the La Liga side have been known for cashing in on their star turns in the recent past.

The likes of Torres, Sergio Aguero, Diego Forlan and David de Gea have all been sold to make ends meet and Chelsea are apparently ready to offer Falcao a £10m a year deal that he could find hard to turn down.

Falcao has been in phenomenal form at Atletico, scoring 63 goals in 78 appearances since his £35m move to the club.

Torres was a huge hit at Atletico Madrid prior to his move to Liverpool in 2007, scoring 75 goals in 174 La Liga appearances.
