Making the Counter Count
In another era this could be construed as the long ball game, which many-a-coach got vilified for. Now in a different decade it could be counter-attacking football, a tactic heavily utilized by several coaches, perhaps most notably in todays game, Jose Mourinho. In different circumstances it might also be considered as direct play - marginally less offensive these days than the long ball game of the 1970's, but nonetheless a similar strategy.
