Gareth Bale plays down talk of summer Spurs exit

Gareth Bale has played down speculation he will quit Tottenham in the summer, insisting he is not interested in the rumours circulating around his future.

The newly crowned PFA Player and Young player of the year has been linked with a move to several top European clubs, including Real Madrid and Barcelona, after an impressive season.

But the Welshman says all his focus remains on trying to secure a top four place for his current side.

'I just take no notice, it’s all speculation, I can’t do anything about it,' said Bale.

'I just concentrate on my football and play as well as I can and do my best for the team.'

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas hinted last week that Bale may opt to move away from north London, should they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Tottenham are currently two points adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal and although they have a game in hand over their neighbours, that involves a trip to fellow top four rivals Chelsea on May 8.
