Chelsea's Nigerian contingent hasn't had the happiest of times at the Africa Cup of Nations this time around -- although they've all played fairly well, they've seen their side twice blow late 1-0 leads, and progression to knockout rounds is now in some doubt.
The Super Eagles need to beat Ethiopia in their last match in order to advance, because if they fail to do so, a Zambia win over Burkina Faso would see them finish in third place in Group C and mean a hugely disappointing early trip home for one of the pre-tournament favourites.
The man who's had the most trouble out of Chelsea's three representatives has been Victor Moses. A hamstring injury apparently forced him out of action for their first match, and now it's flaring up again and could rule him out for the Ethiopia game.
It's difficult to know whether this is good news or bad news for Chelsea. The Blues need both Moses and John Obi Mikel badly, and Nigeria going out ahead of schedule would mean vital reinforcements for the squad (even if I'm supporting the Super Eagles on a personal level at the moment). But if this injury is serious and/or nagging, having Moses playing at partial strength would be very, very annoying.
Hopefully it's just a minor thing, but if he gets played despite being hurt and then does further damage to his hamstring, I'm going to be highly unimpressed.
