Chelsea travel down to the coast to tackle Southampton as they begin their defence of The FA Cup.
Saints will look to cause an upset and will take confidence from the Blues slipping up at home to QPR this week.
The FA Cup represents another opportunity for Chelsea to pick up some silverware despite their failure in the Champions League and the mountain they will need to climb in order to challenge for the Premier League this season.
By resting Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Ashley Cole for the QPR game, it looked as if Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez might be looking towards the Southampton game as a better opportunity for him to succeed at Stamford Bridge personally.
Saints coach Nigel Adkins might not want to treat this game as seriously as his opposite number, considering that survival in the Premier League is the main target this season.
