John Terry 'devastated' at the thought of Frank Lampard's Chelsea exit

• Terry calls for Lampard's shirt to be retired
• Lampard linked with a move to Italy

John Terry today revealed his devastation at Frank Lampard's possible departure from Chelsea and called for his team-mate's No8 shirt to be retired.

Lampard is out of contract at the end of the season and there has been no sign of the club offering him a new deal.

This morning Terry posted a picture of him and Lampard holding the FA Cup on his Instagram account accompanied by the comment: "Devastated is an understatement. We should retire the number 8 shirt in honour of Lamps. #theheartbeat #hero #legend #hero #goalmachine #friend #ktbffh [keep the blue flag flying high] #cfc #chelsea."

Lampard's agent Steve Kutner is reported to have spoken to Italian media about the possibility of his client moving to Italy in the summer after admitting the midfielder will definitely leave Chelsea when his contract expires.

"At this moment, Lampard is exclusively thinking about the present, in other words Chelsea,' Kutner is reported to have told the website Cittaceleste.it. "As for the future, the only certainty is that he will change team at the end of the season. Frank wants to play for a great side, capable of challenging for important targets and where he could win more trophies."
