Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed his interest in Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha ahead of the opening of the January transfer window.
England international Zaha is widely considered to be one of the hottest talents outside the top flight in England, and has been linked with moves to Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea in recent weeks.
However, it's Arsenal who have long been rumoured to be the front-runners for the 20-year-old, who is all but certain to leave Palace in the new year.
Indeed, Gunners boss Wenger has had his scouts keep a close eye on Zaha all season, with the Ivory Coast-born starlet being seriously considered as a replacement for contract rebel Theo Walcott.
Walcott has less than a year left on his current deal at the Emirates and has so far failed to agree terms on an extension, with Arsenal said to be refusing to meet his £100,000-a-week wage demands.
If a compromise can't be found by January then Arsenal are willing to cash in on Walcott and buy a replacement, with Wenger confirming ahead of the club's fixture with Everton that Zaha is on his list of targets.
'He's not more on the list than anybody else,' a coy Wenger added.
Zaha is likely to cost in excess of £10million, but Palace would be open to accepting a lower figure if the player would be allowed to see out the remainder of the season at Selhurst Park.
