Juventus sign Anelka on five-month deal
Juventus have signed Nicolas Anelka on a five-month deal after the Frenchman arrived in Turin for a medical on Saturday. The Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta said the club had agreed a deal with Anelka until the end of the season, with the option for a further year. "It can be a good move for the short term, then at the end of the season we'll evaluate what must be done," Marotta said. On his arrival at Turin airport, Anelka said: "I'm very happy to be here." Reports say the 33-year-old former France forward will undergo his medical on Sunday. Juventus will be Anelka's 10th club. He has played for Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, Fenerbahce, Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea and Shanghai Shenhua. PA

Peter Odemwingie has used Twitter to take a swipe at West Bromwich Albion for not letting him move to Queens Park Rangers. Slip has McCoist fuming
Ally McCoist admits he was as angry as he has ever been as Rangers manager after his side were hit by a late Montrose goal at Ibrox. Rangers looked set to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Third Division to 22 points thanks to a John Crawford own-goal but were reeling when David Gray came off the bench to snatch a share of the points with a minute to go. McCoist fumed: "I'm probably as angry as I've ever been as manager with that performance. It was not good enough and our standard of finishing was probably worse."
Hearts secured their place in the Scottish League Cup final with a 5-4 penalty shootout success over Inverness Caledonian Thistle. PA
