PSG eye Benitez as Mourinho & Ancelotti get itchy feet

Rafael Benitez has emerged as possible candidate to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Paris Saint-Germain this summer opening the door to a possible three-way managerial reshuffle.

The Chelsea interim boss is set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and claimed last week he has already received offers for the 2013-14 campaign.

Jose Mourinho's declaration after Real Madrid's Champions League exit to Borussia Dortmund that he wanted to be loved has heightened specultion the Special One could be set for a sensational return to the Blues hotseat.

Talks between Mourinho's representatives and Chelsea officials are said to be "ongoing" with the Portuguese suggesting on Tuesday that he expects to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the current campaign and move to a club "where people love me".

It has already been claimed that Ancelotti - another former Chelsea boss - is "close" to agreeing a deal to succeed Mourinho at Madrid, despite being on the verge of guiding PSG to their first Ligue 1 title since 1994.

Reports claim Ancelotti met with Madrid officials on two separate occasions recently to discuss the post with some suggesting the Italian has already informed PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his intention to move on.

Arsene Wenger has been mooted as a potential candidate to take over at the Parc des Princes, but with the Frenchman adamant he will see out the remaining year of his contract at Arsenal, Benitez has emerged as a genuine target.

Mourinho himself has been linked with PSG for much of the season, and publicly refused to rule out a move earlier this year, but his very public courting with a return to England, where he is an immensely popular figure, suggests his priorities lie elsewhere.

Manuel Pellegrini, the Chilean coach of another Qatari-owned club, Malaga, is also a viable alternative after guiding the troubled Spanish club to the quarter-finals of the Champions League in their debut campaign.

But it is Benitez's name that has emerged in the past 24 hours with the prospect of Chelsea, PSG and Madrid being part of a unique manager swap this summer a distinct possibility.

Definitely one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
