Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has admitted he is happy to fuel speculation linking him with a return to the Premier League according to talkSport.

The Portuguese boss looks certain to leave the club at the end of the current season after a disappointing start to the campaign saw them lose insurmountable ground to rivals Barcelona.

Spanish newspaper Marca also reported that senior players within the Bernabeu dressing room, thought to be Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos, informed the Real Madrid hierarchy of their intention to hand in transfer requests should the 'Special One' remain at the helm at the beginning of next season.

That has prompted speculation in recent months of a return to England as Mourinho has often spoken of his desire to return to the Premier League.

Many compared Real Madrid's recent Champions League tie with Manchester United to a job interview, with an unusually subdued Mourinho on his best behaviour while visiting Old Trafford. Mourinho has often been touted as a potential successor to Sir Alex Ferguson but with the Old Trafford boss looking unlikely to retire any time soon, the timing may make a move to the Premier League leaders unlikely.

Chelsea look to be in pole position to secure Mourinho's signature, with reports in recent days suggesting preliminary talks have already begun between the former Chelsea manager and the club's owner Roman Abramovich.

Mourinho insisted he is happy to hear the speculation, saying 'There is a lot of talk. I think people have to understand I can be in London very often because we have a house here, we love it here, our daughter is coming to study in London.

'To be in London is a very normal thing for us. Every time I come, people start immediately to make the connections that I will return.

'I fuel it a little bit. I say every day I love it here, I had a fantastic time here, I will return one day, so to be fair I contribute a little bit to that speculation.'
