Chelsea's Fernando Torres has turned down the chance to move to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala according to The Daily Mail.

The mis-firing striker's future at Stamford Bridge looks uncertain with reports suggesting the club's management are finally running out of patience with the Spaniard's poor performances.

Speculation regarding the player's future reportedly tempted Anzhi into making an bid for the former Liverpool star, but the striker has reported rebuffed their approach as he continues to weigh up his options.

It is thought Torres has not completely given up hope on his Chelsea career, but would prefer a move to Italy or Spain should be find himself no longer wanted by the club.

Were Torres to move, he is likely to command a fraction of the £50 million transfer fee Chelsea paid to Liverpool to secure the player's services.

That is unlikely to be a consideration for Anzhi however whose wealthy owner has proven himself happy to splash the cash to see the likes of Samuel Eto'o, Lassana Diarra and Willian arrive at the Chechen club.

Torres is currently undergoing yet another goal-drought having last hit the back of the net during Chelsea's Premier League tie against Aston Villa in December of last year.
