Hamsik has reportedly run out of patience and is now keen on securing a summer exit.

The player is likely to have no shortage of suitors with a number of top European clubs having been linked to the player in recent seasons.

The likes of PSG, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United are all reported to be monitoring the player's availability.

But Chelsea are keen to steal a march on their rivals and are preparing a mega-bucks bid in an attempt to persuade the player to ply his trade at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea hierarchy reportedly see Hamsik as the perfect replacement for outbound England midfielder Frank Lampard.

Hamsik plays in a similar mould to Lampard and has earnt the adoration of the Napoli faithful after hitting the back of the net on a regular basis for the Serie A side.

Napoli are unlikely to let the player go for cheap however and it is rumoured that a bid in excess of £25 million would be necessary to secure the player's services.

Hamsik is into his sixth season at the San Paolo and has seen his side's title challenge fall away, a surprise defeat at Chievo leaving them nine points off leaders Juventus. The former Brescia man has made 245 appearances for the Naples side, scoring 67 goals in the process.
